Ava Chatterson of
If you were to find a bag with a needle & pink thread inside, it could belong to just about any ballet dancer in the room. But to find a bag filled with a plethora of multi-colored threads in any width and color imaginable? Now, that bag would belong to Ava Chatterson.
Meet Ava Chatterson, the self-taught hand embroiderer behind her business, PickyStitches. Based in the ever creative town of Sacramento, California, Ava currently dances with The Sacramento Ballet in tandem with running her Etsy shop and participating in local maker fairs and markets in the Sacramento Area.
What I love about browsing Picky Stitches is the playfulness and color that her designs possess. From sew-on patches inspired by Mayan Flowers and Japanese Maple leaves, to smaller pins that remind you of just how great coffee, avocados, and small popsicles truly are, Ava's shop is full of embroidery that will brighten your day.
Because if you didn't think that a cute, mini avocado pin would be enough for you, Ava also executes numerous custom orders. From embroidering Jansport backpacks to personalizing denim button ups, and even one of her latest projects...
creating two matching bride and groom patches for the denim jean jackets the newlyweds wore at their reception and after party!
I love it. Matching Jean Jacket Patches trending in 2019? You saw PickyStitches execute it first!
A beautiful work space is sure to bring about beautiful work. All of the natural color, light, and beauty that surrounds Ava definitely influences many of the themes relating to nature that are found in her designs.
Any time I see @pickystitches in my feed, I smile. And I'm sure her colorful, bright designs will send a smile your way too. Be sure to follow along!
