for the kitchen.
A kitchen 'buffet' [the true technical term] is a fantastic piece of furniture for some extra storage space. Generally, kitchen buffet's are a great place to store special serving plates, various vases, platters, & table linens.
About 2 years ago I found a beautiful kitchen buffet at one of my favorite local shops, when modern was. Thankfully we had enough room in our apartment to squeeze in this beautifully finished piece! Not only has this piece allowed me to store a lot of serving plates and dishes, but my roommate is able to store all of her fabulous salad master cookware! The top of the buffet is also the perfect go to spot in our kitchen to prepare morning coffee, open a bottle of wine, or cut open some fresh fruit.
Recently, I found a piece of furniture around Clement Street outside of an abandoned home. I couldn't pass by without thinking that it would make a perfect kitchen buffet. After some sanding, staining, and fresh coats of Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint & Wax, my boyfriend and I were able to give this once yellow stained outdated piece a more French Country feel.
